You're Invited: Community Easter Egg Hunt

Victory Electric is one of the sponsors of the Ladies Community Outreach Easter Egg Hunt. It will be Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at the Soccer fields near the YMCA. There will be more than 6,000 candy-filled eggs and the event is FREE for kids.

Victory Electric Introduces New Lightner Community Spirit Scholarship Program

The Victory Electric Cooperative Assn., Inc., is proud to announce a new scholarship program for high school seniors and current college students. In the spring, Victory Electric will award ten $1,000 scholarships to its members or their dependents. The Lightner Community Spirit Scholarship is designed to recognize students who have demonstrated academic success as well as showing a commitment to bettering their community.

Victory Electric and CoBank Award “Sharing Success” Grant to Manna House

Victory Electric Cooperative, Assn., Inc., is pleased to announce the Manna House in Dodge City as the recipient of this year’s Victory/CoBank “Sharing Success” Grant.

The Manna House has been awarded two checks totaling $10,000– $5,000 from Victory Electric and $5,000 from CoBank– to help fund house improvements.

Vittles for Vets and Dodge City Law have teamed together giving donors a free ticket.

The Dodge City Law has partnered with the Vittles for Vets program to help stock the food pantry at Fort Dodge. Already, Victory Electric members have donated more than 1,500 items to Fort Dodge Soldier’s Home. We want to do even better. For every person who drops off ten non-perishable items, the Dodge City Law will issue (1) free ticket voucher good towards any game during the 2016 season.

Victory Accepting Youth Tour Applications

Youth Tour applications are now available and are due Nov. 6, 2015.

High school juniors have an opportunity to win an all inclusive, free trip to Washington, D.C. or Steamboat Springs, Colorado with the Victory Electric Youth Tour.  The Washington, D.C. trip will be June 9-16, 2016 and the Steamboat Springs, Colorado excursion will take place July 16-22, 2015.

Pumpkin Painting and Carving Festival Scheduled for Oct. 24

It’s time again for the 9th annual Pumpkin Painting and Carving Festival.

The event is Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m at Victory Electric’s office. Each year, hundreds of kids take home pumpkins for Halloween. There will be 800 pumpkins available this year on a first come, first-served basis. The event is free for children age 13 and under with an accompanying adult.

Victory Electric Launching “Vittles for Vets” Food Drive

In an effort to help local veterans, Victory Electric Cooperative is launching “Vittles for Vets”, a program aimed at stocking the food pantry at Fort Dodge.

Victory Changing Meter Loop Requirements

In an effort to streamline our operations and unify the way we do business with rural and urban members, Victory is slightly changing how meter loops are disbursed to members.

State of Kansas Eyes Taxing Energy Bills

Dear Victory Electric member,

The Kansas state government faces some big challenges in balancing its books for the next couple of years. The Kansas Legislature is holding hearings on a number of bills that will provide options to fund schools, state government, and state services. Among the proposals under consideration is Senate Bill 261, which would apply the state's 6.15 percent sales tax to residential energy bills.
