Oversized Laods

Caution must be used when an oversized load could potentially encounter or touch a power line. In preparation for your travel through our service territory we’ve provided you below with Victory Electric’s guidelines on oversized load travel and utility notification.

Kansas law states traveling parties are required to notify electric utilities in writing at least 15 days prior to transporting oversized loads of 16’ feet or higher through their service territory. Victory Electric is the only authorized agent to contact or move electric lines in our service area.

Please complete the form provided below to submit your request for Victory Electric’s assistance with your oversized load move.

Please contact us with any questions, concerns or if you need immediate assistance/follow up on your request. We are happy to talk to you and work to ensure the safe transport of your oversized load. By calling 620.227.2139 or 800.279.7915 (toll-free), you can reach Victory Electric directly during business hours or our dispatch service after business hours.

  1. In addition to notifying Victory Electric in writing at least 15 days prior to transporting an oversized load, the individual responsible or in charge of the transport/move must make follow-up telephone contact with Victory Electric at least 24 hours prior to entering our service territory. If your travel plans should change, please contact us as soon as possible to allow our personnel time to plan and designate crews to escort and assist the transport of your oversized load.
  2. Any traveling party assumes full responsibility and liability for any damages to electric infrastructure and equipment. Failure of the traveling party to notify and make contact with Victory Electric, or if your party travels through our territory without a Victory Electric escort, it may result in additional charges and/or forfeiture of your deposit in its entirety. Lack of contact and/or unauthorized travel through our service territory will result in Victory Electric crews inspecting line for possible damages and potential financial charges for any expenses incurred.
  3. Pilot cars with an over height measuring stick must wait until Victory Electric crews have lifted the line above the measuring stick prior to pulling away from a power line needing lifted.
  4. Victory Electric is the only authorized agent to contact or move electric lines in our service area. Contracted pilot cars, escort vehicles, and/or bucket truck escort services are NOT authorized to touch or move Victory Electric’s electric lines or equipment. We make no guarantee and are not responsible for the height or moving of attached cable, phone, data or other communication lines on our poles.

Our job is to help you safely move through our service area. The 15-day window allows Victory Electric personnel time to drive the projected route and to determine if trained cooperative personnel are required to safely move any electric lines out of the path of your load. We reserve the right to charge a deposit per crossing, which must be paid in advance of the move, and once the move is complete, you may be billed for the actual expense of the work/labor required to safely move your oversized load through our territory.
